Sights and Sounds of Batad

11:30 pm:

Woke up randomly at 11:30 to complete, pitch-black, darkness. No electrical lights, no fires, nothing. I fumbled around for my flashlight and walked outside my bedroom. There was no light pollution and so the sky was absolutely marvelous; you could see every star and the moon was bright. Nothing like it anywhere else.

5:00 am:

Woke up to the sound of several roosters and chirping birds. Don’t know if you can hear the roosters in this video, but you can certainly hear the birds and see the view before the sun rises.

8:00am

The sun rises and light just cascades across the mountain tops. I feel like I’m in a National Geographic video… you can’t believe that what you’re seeing actually exists. In fact, for most of the time, I kept thinking that what I was seeing must actually just be a figment of my imagination or that it was just photoshoped in.
