- Nshunge Musheshe is my wonderful roommate, co-conspirator, and fantastic partner-in-crime! She has been so enthusiastic of this trip from the very outset and has encouraged me to push forward. Her excitement has helped me deal with certain familial issues in preparation for this trip. Nshunge, even though we may want to have single rooms, I don’t think it will ever happen because you and I just can’t seem to get away from each other!

- Marlow Staples and Emily Wazlak for their suggestion of blogging this trip (initially for extra cash but eventually for just the excitement of sharing the experiences). Friends like Nootan, Joanie, and Jarin, for their input on what to pack and buy (i.e. salomon water shoes), how to prepare (i.e. eating yogurt everyday before leaving), what to watch out for (good and bad things), and what I need to see in each of these places.

- Nazeela Saira Nasseri for her wonderful support and for her offering of free accommodations in India, clothing recommendations, and her generally awesome personality.

- The Mount Holyoke College Office of Communications: My boss and other members of the office offered wonderful pieces of advice on the formation of this blog and of ideas for each blog entry. They have also been great enough to donate small things like a pedometer for this trip!I also want to thank my professors at Mount Holyoke College for their suggestions on things that I must see, eat (daseri and chausa mangoes and cactus curry), visit, and do in each of the places that we’ll be visiting.

- Linda Laderach: My violin instructor who has been so helpful with tips on safe travelling for women and for pointers on things to check out in all of the places that I will be going. She has also been extremely helpful in constructing my budget for such a trip.

- My cousin Erica for helping me out when I needed to go to NYC for a quick, one-day, Indian visa.

- And of course Lydii Boyer for hanging out with me all day while I waited for my Indian Visa and making it a fantastic, relaxing afternoon in the city!

- My cousin Jonas for letting me stay with him when I needed to do some last-minute metropolitan shopping for the trip.

- Dana Hall School – my high school alma mater – my former instructors, deans, and mentors have been willing and able to help and I appreciate their support. They better follow this blog!

- A previously unencountered teller at Citizen’s Bank for lending me her son’s travel wallet (the dorky but safe one that you hang around your neck) for this trip.
I’d just like to thank my mom and nana for all their love and support for me and this trip. I know that my mother is very understandably worried about my safety on this trip and I am so grateful for her excitement for the experiences that I will have. She has helped me with my preparations and planning.
My father and the rest of my family for accepting this adventure as something that I want to do, even though they may disapprove.
