Travel and Leisure came out with a list of 15 of the world’s “most dangerous countries.” Out of that list, we’ve already recently been to 3 of them, dallied on the border of 2 others and are planning to go to 2-3 more within the year. In our experience, some of them really aren’t as dangerous as they say they are. Trust us, we know first hand.
The official list:
- Pakistan (we’ve been on the contentious “Line of Control” border between India and Pakistan, and we’re going there next summer)
- Sudan
- Georgia
- Lebanon (we’ve just been, and had a blast — no pun intended.)
- North Korea (ha! we’ve just been there too, and even had a famous off the map adventure)
- Syria (we’ve recently been on the border, and been trying to go there for the last year)
- Yemen
- Uzbekistan
- Iran (we’ve already made concrete plans to head there next Spring. It’s happening.)
- Algeria
- Afghanistan (a possible detour after Pakistan this summer)
- Eritrea
- Zimbabwe
- Burma/Myanmar (we’ve just been there as well)
- Iraq (another possible detour after Pakistan)
- At time of posting in NYC, it was 39.2 °F -
Humidity: 41% | Wind Speed: 23km/hr | Cloud Cover: sunny
