On the way from JFK Airport

I took this shortly after landing from my South America trip 3 weeks ago, somewhere outside of JFK International Airport in NYC. I had forgotten about it until I found it in my memory card the other day.

This image just gets to me; a memorial arrangement of flowers in the middle of a expressway, the remnants of the caution tape under it. I had almost decided to make it black & white, but I think the desaturated colors and the yellow of the caution tape speak enough for themselves. It makes me wonder who. And why.

- At time of posting in NYC, it was 51.8 °F -

Humidity: 93% | Wind Speed: 13km/hr | Cloud Cover: cloudy with rain

Another trip begins soon...where? why?
